In our join-in tours, we will travel in a group of up to 10 people from potentially all over the world. The itinerary will be followed as closely as possible, however travel around countryside areas isn't always predictable so it's best to expect the unexpected! The guide will be responsible for organizing travel details including accommodation, transportation, food and tours. The accommodation will be basic hostel standard (a clean place to sleep with hot shower available) in countryside areas and two or three star hotels in city areas. Near most of the hostels there will be Internet access. At all of them, washing clothes can be arranged for a small fee. The transport is a combination of local buses and trains, and hired vehicles for the places where pubic transport is inconvenient. Some of the roads in these area are rough (especially Guangxi and Guizhou), so expect some delays and bumpy rides! Every day the guide will arrange sightseeing activities for the group. It is up to you how many of these you wish to join in. Most people stay with the group the majority of the time, however if you wish to explore on your own at times, feel free. It's your choice how independent you wish to be! For private tours, the itinerary and style of travel is completely up to you. We hope through your Backroads of China tour you will develop an appreciation for the Chinese culture, see parts of China that regular tourists don't see, and leave with some incredible memories. |
