Hunan Province

Once a well-kept secret, Western Hunan is now an increasingly popular destination for both Chinese and international tourists. The population of the area is mainly made up of the Tujia, Miao and Bai minorities which account for about 77% of the total inhabitants. With a UNESCO World Heritage-listed National Park, the longest cable-car in the world, numerous river rafting trips and the 1300 year old Fenghuang Ancient Town, Western Hunan has something for everyone to enjoy.  It is particularly recommended for nature lovers, and those with a palate for spicy food.
