Lugu Lake
This was the clearest lake I've ever seen. They say visibility in the deep sections is twelve metres and I believe it. Lugu Lake is a wonderful place to relax and discover the Mosuo minority culture. While the towns near the park entrance are quite touristy, a few hours hike takes you to villages that see few tourists. We hiked from Lige to Dazui then stopped for lunch in a local family's house. They cooked up four dishes plus a soup, unfortunately, we couldn't take anything after the first few bites because of all the peppercorns they'd used. My mouth was numb then tingly for the next few hours! We then rode horses on to Zuosuo, the gateway to Sichuan province. It's a wild west town with more horses on the road than motorbikes.
Lugu Lake would be a great place to camp. There's lots of flat grassy areas right by the water's edge.
