Tianmen Mountain

This park has now been developed, and is home to a 7.2 kilometre long cable car to the top of the 1277 metre mountain- apparently, the longest cable car in the world. Previously, we have reached the top via motorbikes or small vans. The roads are windy, bumpy and quite scary in places but the panoramas from the top are well worth it. On one side of the 37 metre wide archway you look out over Zhangjiajie city, while the other side gives a country landscape. In fall especially the yellow fields are simply spectacular.
