Tiger Leaping Gorge

I now understand completely why people say the Tiger Leaping Gorge is an independent hiker's dream! The path is good, the scenery is spectacular, and the hostels are fantastic. I've never seen toilets with such amazing views before!

The best bits for me were watching hawks soar over the gorge, the delicious food at the Teahorse Trade Guesthouse, walking through a beautiful waterfall, and seeing fields of 'huajiao' (peppercorn) trees for the first time.

We walked from Qiaotou to Daju (the opposite way to most people). Daju is the most attractive village I have ever visited. Streets of stone houses perched on a plateau, surrounded by craggy mountains on all sides.

The perfect end to an amazing two days!
