3 day Lugu Lake tour (starts/finishes from Lijiang)

Day 1: Enjoy a seven hour drive through incredible mountain scenery to Lugu Lake, a plateau lake which is the highest (2680 metres) and second deepest in Yunnan Province. Hike for three hours to Lige Village, a more peaceful part of the lake, where you will stay the night in a guesthouse.

Day 2: Hike along the road for around three to four hours to Dazui Village. Have lunch in a local Mosuo farmer's home. Then ride on canoes back to Lige Village. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the lake, enjoying the views. That night, join in a Mosuo fire party. Overnight at Lige Village.

Day 3: Set out in the morning for the drive back to Lijiang. Arrive in the late afternoon.

3 day taste of Tibet tour (starts/finishes in Zhongdian)

Day 1: Drive from Zhongdian to Deqin, traversing several mountain ranges. Stop for lunch at Benzanlin, a small Tibetan town built by the river and have a wander around the streets. Further up the road, you will stop at what is commonly referred to as the "Omega", the first bend of the Jinsha River. As you near Deqin, enjoy your first views of the Meili Snow Mountains. Stay in Meili Snow Mountain village overnight.

Day 2: Get up early to watch sunrise over the Meili Snow Mountains, then proceed onto Mingyong Glaciers. To reach the viewpoint, you have the option of a 3 hour trek through the forest, or a 1.5-2 hour horse ride. After coming back down from the glacier, drive back to Meili Snow Mountain village for the night, stopping enroute to enjoy the views and small village along the way.

Day 3: Drive back to Zhongdian, stopping at Feilaisi (a Tibetan Temple) and perhaps Napa Lake on the way.
